IIT Dharwad designs mobile app to detect Fake News

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dharwad students have designed a mobile app which will be able to detect Fake News. In today’s era, when we have what’s app universities, social media groups which has raised the spread of fake news to a level in a few years, it is really important to have some technology to stop the spread of fake news.

Damaging the reputation of a person –
Fake news is untrue information presented as news. It often has the aim of damaging the reputation of a person or entity, or making money through advertising revenue. Fake news is a neologism . Fake news, or fake news websites, have no basis in fact, but are presented as being factually accurate.

Dr. Nishank tweeted, “Students from @iitdhrwd have designed a mobile app which will help detect FakeNews.” He further added, “The app will be launched in 2 months and will help curtain the spread of disinformation.”

IIT Jodhpur becomes First Institute in India to have AI Supercomputers

Unmatched Data Center Scalability –
NVIDIA DGX A100 features Mellanox ConnectX-6 VPI HDR InfiniBand/Ethernet network adapters with 450 gigabytes per second (GB/s) of peak bi-directional bandwidth. This is one of the many features that make DGX A100 the foundational building block for large AI clusters such as NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD™, the enterprise blueprint for scalable AI infrastructure.

Central Computing Facility systems –
India Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur (IITJ) today announced the receipt of NVIDIA DGX A100 to be installed at the Central Computing Facility systems for students, from all departments, including the School of AI and Data Science.With this, IITJ becomes the first Indian customer & recipient of this industry-leading AI Supercomputer. The DGX A100 infrastructure will be combined with every department and curriculum at IIT Jodhpur, with Machine Learning as a major part of it.

FICCI FLO Hyderabad partner with IIIT-H to set up an incubator to empower women entrepreneurs

FICCI FLO Hyderabad Chapter has partnered with International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-H) to set up an incubator to empower women entrepreneurs and woman led startups. It will help women- led startups at early stages through talks/roundtables on emerging business models, strategies to scale up and more.
The virtual inauguration was held which was successfully attended by Usharani Manne (FLO Hyderabad Chairperson), Ramesh Loganathan (Professor Co-Innovation/Outreach at IIIT Hyderabad), Sanjay Jesrani( Founder, Go North Ventures and Member, IIITH Foundation) and GB members of FLO Hyderabad and CIE@IIITH.

FLO Hyderabad Chairperson Usharani Manne said, “The mandate of FLO being the economic empowerment of women at all levels, enabling entrepreneurship is at the heart of everything that we do. The FLO Incubation Cell is a national-level initiative that was launched by all 17 chapters during 2020-21.”

One-on-one mentoring and guidance sessions –
FLO Incubator will assist in enabling FLO members and women-led start-ups at early stages through talks/roundtables on emerging business models, strategies for scaling up, differentiating a start-up from conventional businesses, types of funding, workshops and case studies, and one-on-one mentoring and guidance sessions with expert mentors. The FLO Incubator@CIE aims at facilitating 20+ women entrepreneurs with each cohort structured to run for one month. The Incubator comprises of members from both FICCI FLO Hyderabad and CIE, IIIT Hyderabad.

Empower women entrepreneurs –
Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ gave this information through his social media handle. He for the same tweeted, FICCI FLO Hyderabad Chapter has partnered with CIE IIIT-H to set up an incubator that will empower women entrepreneurs. The incubator will help the women-led startups at early stages through talks/roundtables on emerging business models, strategies for scaling up, etc.” In future, this incubator will definitely help to empower women in terms of business, in helping them to become strong entrepreneurs.
