RPL will be a game changer to achieve more than 50% GER in Higher Education by 2035 – Raj Nehru

International webinar on Recognizing Prior Learning(RPL)

Palwal : An International webinar was organized Jointly by Shri Vishwakarma Skill University and IIHMR, Jaipur on Recognizing Prior Learning(RPL) : Aligning the Pre-Existing Competencies to the Standardized Framework. Prof R S Rathore, Registrar SVSU during his welcome address stressed on the need of RPL in India to meet the objectives of NEP 2020. Prof Dr Jyoti Rana, Dean Academics moderated the Webinar. She explained how RPL will going to bring the change in pedagogy. During this webinar Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor, SVSU presented his views on how RPL can be a game changer for increasing Gross Enrollment Ratio in India for higher education to 50% by 2035 and its Implication on Innovation and Employability.
Mr Graham Hasting-Evans, CEO, NOCN Europe presented his views on how the credit accumulation and transfer system works, from the perspective of UK experience. Prof Rajesh Khajuria, Professor Emeritus, FITP University, Vietnam presented his views on how the quality and excellence helps the leadership model of higher education using an Innovative framework. Prof Kyrikos Kouveliotis, Rector, Berlin School of Business and Innovation spoke on the potential application of a global degree as a bridge to an international accreditation framework.
BB Gupta, President, JBM Group expressed his high hopes from Pilot project of RPL started by SVSU for their employees. He also highlighted benefits and challenges of RPL. Mr. Ramu Damodaran, Chief, UN Academic Impact, highlighted the effects of RPL across the globe and expressed his views on how this initiative can bring in the desirable change in academic world.
Prof. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, AIU emphasized the need to make skill education as a prestigious education. She also explained how Academic Bank of Credits can help in continuing the education by earning the credits. Prof. Sujata Shahi, Vice Chancellor, IILM said that dropouts can start their academic career again by RPL model and have better social standing.
Dr Neetu Bhagat, Dy Director- AICTE emphasised the need of proper quality structure in place. Prof Shiv Kumar, Dean Training, IIHMR University presented the valedictory remarks. Vote of thanks were presented by Prof Suresh, Dean Engineering. This webinar by attended by more than 260 people from various states and included Academicians, Students and Corporates. This Webinar was Organised by Prof.(Dr.)Jyoti Rana and the Organising Team members were Dr Dalip Raina, Mr SK Anand, Dr Nikhilesh, Ms Varsha, Ms. Sarita and Mr Ashish Agarwal.
