IIT-H to launch an electric scooter that can run 120km on one charge

Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-H) incubated startup ‘PURE EV’ will soon launch its high speed, long range electric scooter that can run 129 km on one charge. In Oct, PURE EV entered the international market & had launched its premium model ‘EPluto7G’ in Nepal. The new model Etrance Neo can accelerate from zero to 40 kmph in five seconds and its 2,500 watt-hours (Wh) battery gives the vehicle a range of 120 km for a single charge. The scooter chassis is designed for higher speeds at par with the conventional ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) two-wheelers.

Highlighting the unique features of Etrance Neo –

Etrance Neo will be launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 75,999. The IIT Hyderabad (IIT-H) startup has already launched five scooters — EPluto 7G, Epluto, Etrance, Etrance Plus and Etron plus. Highlighting the unique features of ‘Etrance Neo, Mr Rohit Vadera, Co-Founder and CEO of Pure EV said, “The new model has better aerodynamic features for additional improvements in powertrain efficiency. The vehicle has faster pickup and longer range.

New model will be available first in Hyderabad –

It is being launched mainly targeting youngsters who will find this model very appealing. We are targeting sales of 10,000 units of this model in the first one year alone. The new model will be available first in Hyderabad and will be available pan India from our outlets pan India from mid of December 2020.” PURE EV will launch its new scooter Etrance Neo on December1, 2020.

IIT Delhi Researchers launches an Electric Beetle

Researchers of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT Delhi) has launched an Electric Beetle. Given the current, AirPollution concerns clouding the capital, IIT Delhi and The Centre of Excellence for Research on Clean Air (CERCA) has retrofitted a 1948 model Volkswagen Beetle into an electric vehicle. This initiative demonstrates that both technology & innovation can be leveraged to combat the environmental concerns.

Pressing for safeguarding the planet –

“E-mobility has been the buzzword in the automobile industry and the need to adopt e-mobility is not just essential, but pressing for safeguarding the planet since the last half-century has seen adversarial changes in climatic conditions as a result of the ever-increasing pollution with vehicular emissions being one of its major contributors,” said Prof V Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi while launching the electric car.

Sustainable alternatives such as electric vehicles –

He further added, “It is high time to realize the damage already caused and bring a halt to this by shifting to more sustainable alternatives such as electric vehicles which are the right, and the most suitable substitute. With Indian startups spearheading a revolution in this area especially battery technology, vehicle diagnostics, analytics and charging; the time is not far when India will also join the league of EV capitals.”
